The routine is called Taiji 13 sabres, traditionally, we called taiji as taiji 13 postures to describe the thirteen main techniques.
The 13 sabres routine was built on the foundation of the hand form, therefore people name the routine in such a way to show the connections between the hand and sabre form.
This sabre routine was passed down from Grand master Yang cheng fu, the third generation bearer of yang style taiji. He also re-structured and passed on the traditional long hand form, which is widely practised in the world.
Professor Li Deyin, one of the 100 martial art treas ures of China, Chief judge in many national and international competitions, is invited to conduct in depth teaching of the routine in this DVD.
