so much to experience in the short time

Tuesday 06 June, 2017

Thanks Tary!

The trip seemed delightfully organised to me, we were never at a loose end, so much to experience in the short time, and such variety. I always felt safe, even though I can’t speak Mandarin or even read the road signs. I loved meeting the Chinese people, specially all your amazing talented tai chi and qi gong contacts, so friendly and generous with sharing their skills.

Wudang Shan was definitely the highlight, even in a soaking downpour or cold misty weather. I would love to go there again.

an excellent trip, some fantastic sights....

Tuesday 02 May, 2017

I just wanted to say a big thank you for all your hard work and excellent organisational skills, plus putting up with us all, I am sure at times some of us must have tested you, but you were very patient and always had a smile through it all.

I take it you have seen that many of the group have been ill with coughs, colds and sore throats, but hopefully they should be over that by now. Luckily I have not been affected by any of that, or jet lag, my body seems to have adjusted straightaway. I think it helped not sleeping on the plane plus I kept getting up and moving around and exercising.

Also I wanted to say a big thank you to Lily, as she did look a bit exhausted by the end of the trip, she had put so much hard work into helping all of us. Because of this I had organised a collection for her which I presented to her at the Panda park. She looked a bit shocked and surprised, I gave her a big hug and thanked her on behalf of everyone.

Again an excellent trip, some fantastic sights.....

thoroughly enjoyed the trip

I just wanted to let you know how much Peter and I (and the rest of the group) thoroughly enjoyed the trip. Too many highlights to mention, from then outstanding scenery to the training which was great. Better weather would have enhanced it but it didn’t spoil it!!!
Dragon lady, Lily deserves a mention as her sense of humour and ability to organise us so well really made the trip fun and efficiently run!

Warmest regards

an unforgettable experience.

Thursday 05 May, 2016

Thank you for your email, so pleased you are on the mend. Also huge thanks to you and Lily for making the China trip such an unforgettable experience.

Just to let you know, since being back Lin has found confirmation that we did indeed pay in advance for both the Peking opera and the Tang dynasty show, though we ended up paying again whilst in China. Just incase your books don't tally!

Tibet sounds very tempting, I would very much like to receive details when you have them.

Keep safe.

I am sure we will meet again soon – and Tibet sounds awesome. Keep me in the picture please

There will never be a better birthday treat

Thursday 28 April, 2016

One of my highlights (and the same for the students as well) was the visit to the Wushu centre in Wudang and watching the demonstrations and then doing the 24 step together. There will never be a better birthday treat than that so thank you very much for being able to organise that. A very special morning.

I am definitely interested in Tibet - I'm starting to save as I type!!

Hi Tary,
Cassius and I had a wonderful time on the trip and enjoyed our chats, your jokes/humor and your singing (surprisingly a pretty good voice!). Thank you for making our times in China memorable and fun. I also appreciated your feedback and tips for my tai chi practice. Hope one day I can accumulate enough points to become your disciple :)

Tai Chi China Tour 2015
What an amazing trip! The Aussie group thoroughly enjoyed it. Thank you to our tour organiser Master Tary and our lovely tour guide Lily. Not only did they bring a lot of fun to our trip but also the fine weather right up to day 15. To get our British friends ready for their home trip, Tary and Lily even ‘organised’ the weather in Beijing to resemble that of their home country. The seven Aussies who left at the end of their tour on day 15 were lucky to escape the cool change in Beijing. The remaining seven were almost frozen during the last 3 days of the tour.

From the Aussies side, we would call out the Wudang Mountain as the highlight of our trip. Even Louise who visited Wudang for the third time agreed. Mt Wudang was such a peaceful and beautiful place. The scenery was sensational and watching the sun rise in Wudang was just breath taking. Our tai chi practice in the early mornings up on the roof of the hotel (for those who couldn’t sleep in) was memorable.

The itinerary was well planned by Tary (who called himself ‘good looking’ – probably better looking when he was younger…hehe). The Aussies loved seeing the Pandas, Giant Budda, Terracotta Warriors and The Great Wall, which were all incredible. The train trip from Chengdu to Wudang, staying in bunk beds overnight, gave us the experience of real local travelling. We enjoyed the company of our British friends who were fun and helpful. We are grateful to have had the opportunity to meet with Professor Li and Professor Zhang who gave us valuable guidance in practicing tai chi and qigong.

While lives on our side are slowly going back to normal (and sadly for those who have to go to work), we still talk about our China trip every weekend when meeting up and practising tai chi at Eastwood. This is likely to continue for a while…until our next trip….to Tibet!
Once again, we thank Tary and Lily for organising such a great trip and looking after us throughout the journey.
